Cynological Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (KSuBiH)

The Cynological Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (KSuBiH), operating in conjunction with the Kennel Club Herceg-Bosna, serves as the primary governing body for canine affairs within the region. The organization traces its roots back to October 1992, with a formal establishment occurring on February 10, 1996, in Vitez. Following its initial registration in Mostar, the organization underwent a formal re-registration process in Sarajevo to align with the laws of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2000, the union was solidified through a collaborative effort between the Bosnian Kennel Club, the Serbian Republic Kennel Club, and the Kennel Club Herceg-Bosna, creating a unified national entity. By February 2002, this collective body achieved international recognition by becoming a member of the International Cynological Federation (FCI).

The core mission of the Union is to promote the responsible development of purebred dogs through a variety of professional activities. Their primary objectives include:

These include national and international dog shows, such as the CACIB and CAC exhibitions, as well as specialized events like the EU Cup for hounds and specialized breed exhibitions, including those for the Tornjak. The Union functions as an umbrella organization, with membership comprised of various local cynology associations and kennel clubs. Individuals are encouraged to participate either through these local affiliated clubs or by joining the organization directly.
