About the Club
Information and activities
Klub chovatelů loveckých slídičů (KCHLS) stands as the oldest club in the Czech Republic dedicated to the specialized breeding and development of hunting dogs. As of 2025, the organization is structured into two primary branches: KCHLS retrieveři and KCHLS slídiči a vodní psi. The club serves as a comprehensive authority for 21 distinct breeds, ensuring that breeding practices align with the highest standards of health, genetics, and natural working ability.
Core Mission and Objectives
The primary mission of KCHLS is the controlled and ethical breeding of hunting spaniels, retrievers, and water dogs. The club is committed to improving the breeding base by strictly adhering to FCI standards and the regulations set forth by the ČMKU (Czech-Moravian Cynological Union). Central to their philosophy is the preservation of each breed's natural instincts and physical health. The club operates on democratic principles, fostering an environment that supports training, exhibition, and professional development for all members.

The club oversees a diverse range of breeds, including but not limited to:
- Retrievers: Labrador, Golden, Chesapeake Bay, Flat Coated, Curly Coated, and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.

Activities and Governance
KCHLS provides extensive support to its members through a structured framework of rules, including organizational, disciplinary, and breeding regulations. The club organizes various events, including specialized dog shows and performance trials, which are essential for evaluating the working capabilities of the dogs. To facilitate these activities, the club utilizes advanced digital systems for event registration and performance tracking. Members are guided by professional breeding advisors who provide methodological instructions for breeding, mating recommendations, and the issuance of breeding certificates. Furthermore, the club actively promotes excellence through titles such as the Klubový šampion práce, encouraging owners to maintain the high working standards of their respective breeds.
