Pudelklubben (PK)

Pudelklubben (The Poodle Club) is a dedicated special interest club operating under the auspices of the Dansk Kennel Klub (DKK). Since its founding in 1948, the organization has served as the primary authority and community hub for the Poodle breed in Denmark. Its core mission is to promote the Poodle breed while fostering responsible breeding practices and high standards of animal welfare.

The club acts as a vital link between individual owners and the national kennel club, providing a platform for members to influence breed-related policies and participate in a wide array of activities. Membership offers access to a supportive community, expert advice on health and grooming, and opportunities to engage in various canine sports.

Core Activities and Sports:

• Canine Sports: The club actively promotes training and competition in Agility, Obedience, Rally-Obedience, Hoopers, and Dog Dancing (HTM and Freestyle).
• Exhibitions: Pudelklubben organizes specialized dog shows, providing members with opportunities to showcase their dogs and receive professional evaluations.
• Education and Support: The club provides resources on health, including access to expert guidance on Poodle-specific medical issues, grooming workshops, and educational articles published in their electronic member magazine, Rundt om Pudlen.
• Breeding Standards: The club maintains strict ethical recommendations and health requirements for breeders, including PRCD-DNA testing and exterior assessments, ensuring the long-term health and quality of the breed.

Membership and Rules:

Pudelklubben is committed to the growth of the breed and offers a 6-month free trial membership for new puppy buyers, allowing them to integrate into the community and participate in club events. The club maintains a transparent structure, providing members with access to meeting minutes, health data for breeding dogs, and a platform to ask questions regarding the well-being of their pets.
