Club Français du Chien de Rouge de Hanovre et de Bavière (CFCRHB)
The French breed club of the Hanoverian and Bavarian blood-tracking hounds.
About the Club
Background and role
The Club Français du Chien de Rouge de Hanovre et de Bavière is the official French breed club for the two blood-tracking hounds — the Hanoverian Scent Hound and the Bavarian Mountain Scent Hound — affiliated to the Société Centrale Canine.
These are not show dogs in the ordinary sense. They are kept to follow a wounded animal by the scent of its blood, hours after the shot, and the club is built around that: a litter section for each of the two breeds and a calendar of events, with the breeds themselves held apart rather than run together.
Its president is Robert Brand, who is a training judge for the blood-tracking hound test and holds three functions at the federation's commission for terriers, dachshunds and blood-tracking hounds.
