Background and role
Club Langhaar e.V. is the oldest of the sixteen independent breed clubs for the German Long Haired Pointer in Germany, all of which are federated under the Deutsch-Langhaar-Verband. The club looks after North Rhine-Westphalia and counts just under four hundred members, some of them from neighbouring countries.
It publishes the breed's litters, planned matings, working test results and conformation gradings, and keeps a register of brood bitches in which each bitch is listed with her measurements, her working qualifications, her parents and the judge's written assessment — the record that documents kennels such as von der Hafkesdell.
