About the Club

Background and role

The Eurasier Klub e.V. Sitz Weinheim (EKW) traces back to a club founded on 9 October 1960 under the name "Kynologische Zuchtgemeinschaft fΓΌr Wolf-Chow-Polarhunde." After the Samoyed was crossed into the line in 1972 and the FCI recognized the resulting cross as a new breed, the club took its current name on 15 April 1973. The EKW describes itself as the original club of the Eurasian and the oldest Eurasier club, with breeding activity organized through four regional groups (Nord, Ost, SΓΌd, West). It is a member of the Verband fΓΌr das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH), the FCI, and the International Federation for Eurasier Zwinger (IFEZ).
