With a vision to evolve into a modern and professional institution, PERKIN acts as the sole authorized entity responsible for the registration of purebred dogs and the issuance of official pedigrees, known as stamboom. Furthermore, the organization plays a critical role in defining and preserving breed standards, most notably for the Indonesian Kintamani dog.

History and Affiliations
The organization boasts a rich history, originally established under the name Nederlansch Indische Kinologi Vereeninging. Today, it maintains a prestigious international standing as a member of the Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI). Regionally, PERKIN is an active participant in the Asia Kennel Union, which is headquartered at the Japan Kennel Club in Tokyo, ensuring that Indonesian canine standards align with global practices.

These include, but are not limited to, the American Akita Club, Basenji Club, Bichon Frise Club, Chow Chow Club, Club Siberian Husky, Himpunan Trah Anjing Kintamani Bali, Indonesia French Bulldog Club, Indonesian German Shepherd Club, Indonesian Pomeranian Club, Indonesian Rottweiler Club, Klub Boxer Indonesia, Klub Dobermann Indonesia, and Klub Samoyed Indonesia.

Rules and Membership
As a professional organization, PERKIN enforces strict administrative compliance. Members are required to maintain accurate records, and the organization has recently mandated that all members update their personal data to align with their official government identification (KTP) by December 31, 2025, in accordance with Article 8 of the PERKIN Articles of Association (AD).
