Akita u Izis FCI is a distinguished breeding and canine organization with a rich history dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Japanese dog breeds in Poland. Founded by Izyda Bach-Żelewska, the organization has been a cornerstone of the community since the registration of its breeding prefix with the FCI in 2000. The organization's journey began in 1997 with the arrival of the founder's first Akita, Lobo. This initial connection sparked a lifelong passion that led to the establishment of a professional breeding program. A significant milestone in the organization's history occurred in 2006, when it became the first in Poland to import the Shikoku breed, subsequently producing the first litter of this breed in the country in 2007. Furthermore, the organization holds the distinction of being the first in Poland to import an Akita directly from Japan, Daichi Go Niigata Kuriyama, who played a pivotal role in their breeding program. In 2024, the organization expanded its international recognition by registering its breeding prefix with AKIHO, further solidifying its standing in the global Akita community.
