Clube Português de Canicultura (CPC)

The Clube Português de Canicultura (CPC) is the official national kennel club of Portugal, serving as the primary authority for canine affairs, pedigree registration, and the promotion of purebred dogs within the country. Founded in 1930, the CPC is a full member of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), ensuring that its standards and breeding practices align with international protocols.

The core mission of the CPC is to protect, improve, and promote the breeding of purebred dogs in Portugal. This includes the preservation of native Portuguese breeds, such as the Cão de Água Português (Portuguese Water Dog), the Cão da Serra da Estrela (Estrela Mountain Dog), and the Podengo Português. The organization maintains the official Portuguese Stud Book (Livro de Origens Português - LOP), which serves as the definitive registry for purebred dogs in the nation.

The CPC is highly active in the canine community, organizing and sanctioning a wide array of events, including:
