About the Club
Information and activities
The London & Provincial Collie Club (LPCC) is a historic organization with roots dating back to 1906. Originally established by enthusiasts in the London area, including Mr. R. H. Roberts, the club was founded to support small-scale and novice fanciers within a 50-mile radius of the capital. Since its inception, the club has been registered with the Kennel Club and has played a pivotal role in the development and promotion of the Collie breed in the United Kingdom.
History and Evolution
Throughout the 20th century, the LPCC maintained its prominence through the dedication of influential figures and kennels, such as Westcarrs, Sandy, and Eltham Park. Despite economic challenges during the 1930s, the club thrived under strong leadership. Following a period of post-war recovery, the club achieved a significant milestone in 1975 when it was granted Championship status. Although this status was briefly withdrawn due to changes in Kennel Club regulations, it was successfully restored in 1984. In 2006, the club celebrated its centenary by publishing a unique, detailed history handbook that documented its long-standing contributions to the breed.
