Akita Club of Puget Sound (ACPS)

The Akita Club of Puget Sound (ACPS) is a dedicated organization established in 1975 by a passionate group of enthusiasts committed to the welfare and advancement of the Akita breed. Since its inception, the club has focused on the improvement of health, temperament, structure, and overall soundness in the breeding and raising of purebred Akitas. As an independent organization, the ACPS achieved significant milestones, including recognition by the American Kennel Club in 1988 and formal incorporation by the State of Washington in 1990.

• Specialty Shows: Hosting four Independent Akita Specialty Shows annually, with two events held in Puyallup, Washington, in July, and two in Portland, Oregon, during mid-January. These events serve as a premier showcase for top-quality Akitas from across the United States and Canada.
• Community Engagement: Organizing local events and activities designed to connect Akita enthusiasts and foster a supportive regional network.
• Educational Outreach: Promoting awareness and understanding of the breed through various public-facing initiatives.
