Lenape Golden Retriever Club (LGRC)

Established in 1977, the club was founded by a small group of passionate owners who recognized a need for a regional organization to support the breed, facilitate sanctioned events, and provide a community for those interested in the health and versatility of Golden Retrievers.

The club was officially formed in 1978 following the adoption of a constitution, bylaws, and a foundational Code of Ethics. The founders chose the name "Lenape" to honor the indigenous history of the Delaware and Lehigh Valleys. A core pillar of the club is its commitment to the health and well-being of the breed. By establishing a Code of Ethics as a condition of membership, the LGRC ensures that all members, regardless of their specific interests, share a common bond in their dedication to responsible dog ownership and breed improvement.
