Laning Vrethammar runs kennel "Old Smuggler's", established in 1985 and Sweden's second-oldest active Bearded Collie kennel, also breeding Tibetan Spaniels. The breed runs in the family: her mother Barbara Vrethammar, of kennel "Trollflöjten", was among Sweden's first Bearded Collie breeders, with a first litter born in 1972.
