About the Kennel
Background and breeding focus
The kennel
Daykeyne began as the family prefix under which Tabatha Buckley-Bettis grew up handling home-bred English Cocker Spaniels and Irish Setters; she now breeds Pointers and Akitas under it with her husband Mark Bettis. The first Pointer litter came from Gr Ch Willopoint T Hell N Back, a black and white bitch given to her for her sixteenth birthday who became the first Grand Champion in the breed; that line produced seven champions, three Best in Show winners and two Grand Champions. Daykeyne has since had over ten Grand Champions, numerous Supreme Champions and many multiple Best in Show winners. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels were added in 1996 and Akitas in 1998, among them the British import Grand Champion Redwitch Strike Force, who won over fifty Best in Shows to become the top-winning Akita of all time in Australia.
