About the Kennel
Background and breeding focus
Jean Bryant bought her first Flat Coated Retriever in 1985, pioneered the breed in the South Australian show ring and has stayed with it since, breeding under the Sherepoint prefix with Ross Bryant. To widen the gene pool she has imported two bitches and one dog and frozen semen from two more. Her Flat Coated Retrievers have taken Royal challenges at every Royal show except Tasmania; a bitch she sent to Western Australia won Best in Show at a Royal, and one she sent to New South Wales is an all breeds Best in Show winner. She also competed in retrieving trials with all three of her breeds, which she credits for her understanding of why soundness matters.
