Background and breeding focus
He comes from a Deutsch Drahthaar breeding family: his father Stefan Steinberger founded the kennel Vom Donaueck in 1935 and was an honorary member of the South Bavaria regional group; since 2011 the Stefan-Steinberger Memorial Prize has been awarded in his memory at the VGP hunting trial in Ernsgaden.
