About the Kennel

Background and breeding focus

The kennel

The von der Nikolausstraße affix was entered in the breed book of the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde on 22 December 1986. It is a small German Shepherd Dog kennel: the register holds 25 dogs under the affix, with litter letters reaching only from A to F across nearly twenty years, from 1987 to 2005.

What the breed book records

All 25 dogs are stock-coated, and the kennel bred both of the breed's main colour families rather than settling on one - greys, including dogs registered as grey with dark shading and as dark grey, alongside black and tan dogs.

Esta

Esta von der Nikolausstraße (SZ 2054771) was whelped on 9 September 1999, grey with dark shading, by Feivel vom Schelmenturm out of Nixe vom Heiligenbösch. She went to vom Schelmenturm, where she ran the German national championship five times, took the regional title in 2004 and won the club's FCI qualification at Lohsa in 2006, and went on to the national tracking trial the following year.
