Klub chovatelů honičů (KCHH), z.s. is a professional organization dedicated to the breeding, training, and promotion of scent hounds and related breeds in the Czech Republic. The club serves as a central hub for breeders, owners, and enthusiasts, ensuring the preservation of the working and exterior qualities of the breeds under its care.

Core Mission and Activities: The club is highly active in organizing professional events that support the development of canine skills. Its primary activities include:

• Exhibitions: The club hosts regular club and special exhibitions (e.g., in Mladá Boleslav, Olomouc, and Tábor), which are essential for the evaluation of breeding stock and the awarding of titles such as Club Winner.
• Working Trials: KCHH organizes various hunting trials, including blood tracking tests (BZH), search and flushing tests (ZVVZ), and specialized hunting competitions (e.g., the Dr. Urban Memorial). These events are crucial for maintaining the hunting utility of the breeds.
• Breeding Support: The club provides comprehensive breeding services, including the management of breeding conditions, the registration of litters, and the appointment of breeding advisors for specific breed sections.
• Education: The club organizes training days and professional conferences (such as the Basset Hound conference) to educate members on breed standards, anatomy, and training techniques.

Breeds Covered: KCHH oversees a wide range of scent hound breeds, including but not limited to various types of Bassets (Basset Hound, Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen, etc.), as well as other international scent hound breeds. The club actively updates its breeding conditions to reflect the latest FCI standards and health requirements, such as mandatory genetic testing for specific conditions like POAG or PRA-prcd.
