About the Club

Background and role

The Irish Wolfhound Club e.V. is the German breed club for the Irish wolfhound. It describes itself on its own pages as an association for the breeding of Irish wolfhounds, and states that it has been a member of the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen and of the FCI since 2005.

The club runs the parts of breed administration that a German breed club carries: a register of breeders and a list of stud dogs, mating and litter notifications submitted online, breeding wardens and its own breed judges, together with show dates, results and champion lists for males and females.

Its board is led by the chairman Jürgen Kuhless, who also holds the club office, and the deputy chairwoman Daniela Köchling. Günter vom Lehn is the breeding director, Marion vom Lehn keeps the studbook office and Joachim Bartusch is the chairman of the breed judges.
