Klub Psów do Towarzystwa (KPT)

Związek Kynologiczny w Polsce (ZKwP), often associated with the broader community of dog enthusiasts, stands as the primary authority in Polish cynology. With a rich history spanning 90 years of membership in the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), the organization is dedicated to the promotion, breeding, and protection of purebred dogs. The club serves as a central hub for breeders, owners, and enthusiasts, ensuring that high standards of animal welfare and professional breeding practices are maintained across the country.

Core Mission and Activities: The organization is deeply committed to the development of international cynological cooperation. It actively participates in global events, such as the upcoming World Dog Show 2029 in Poland, and fosters strong partnerships with international bodies like the Italian ENCI. A significant part of the club's mission involves the promotion of working dog utility, evidenced by its recent formal agreement with the Polish Hunting Association (Polski Związek Łowiecki). This collaboration focuses on organizing field trials, tests, and competitions for hunting breeds, as well as developing standardized evaluation criteria to preserve the working heritage of these dogs.

Breeds and Conservation: ZKwP places a special emphasis on the preservation of Polish native breeds. The organization actively promotes and protects the following breeds recognized by the FCI:

• Polski owczarek nizinny (Polish Lowland Sheepdog)
• Polski owczarek podhalański (Polish Tatra Shepherd)
• Gończy polski (Polish Hunting Dog)
• Ogar polski (Polish Hound)
• Chart polski (Polish Greyhound)

Additionally, the club supports the Polish Hunting Spaniel, which is currently recognized by ZKwP as a native breed. Through its official quarterly publication, PIES, which has been in circulation since 1948, the organization disseminates expert knowledge on breeding, training, and canine health.

Rules and Governance: The club operates under strict regulatory frameworks to ensure the health and ethical treatment of animals. Members are required to adhere to national laws, including mandatory kennel registration and compliance with animal health regulations. The organization provides comprehensive resources for members, including access to breeding databases, microchip registries, and official show rankings.
