Johansson got his first show dog, a Dachshund, at age five and founded his own kennel, "Martinis," at fifteen. He has bred Gordon Setters since 1984, keeps two Salukis, and has also worked with Springer Spaniels and Australian Kelpies. The kennel is today co-run with fellow FCI judge Fredrik Gustafsson.
