About the Kennel
Background and breeding focus
Sue Bownds has spent nearly fifty years as an exhibitor and advocate for purebred dogs, importing from the UK and New Zealand and exporting to the UK, USA, New Zealand and Europe. The Nangunyah prefix was started by her parents in 1961 and she joined them in 1977; the kennel stayed small, with one or two litters a year. She won her first Best in Show with a Beagle in 1979, followed by four decades of BIS wins at all-breeds and specialty shows, including Puppy in Show at both the Melbourne and Adelaide Royals. The last Beagle she campaigned retired in 2016 having won a world record number of all-breeds Best in Show awards for a lemon bitch.
