About Jonny Hedberg
Judging Credentials
Hedberg has been authorised for sighthound lure coursing since 1 January 1998 and works as a chief judge (överdomare) in the discipline; he appears on the current national list of lure coursing judges kept by the Lure Coursing Committee of Svenska Vinthundklubben. He is not a conformation judge.
He has been active in the sighthound world since 1975, was chairman of Svenska Salukiringen for more than fifteen years across the 1970s and 1980s, and helped establish lure coursing as an official working test and competition in Sweden. He has sat on the Sighthound Commission of Fédération Cynologique Internationale since 2005, and was the responsible publisher of the Saluki club magazine.
Jonny Hedberg is listed as an FCI judge under Fédération Cynologique Internationale.
Breeding and Kennel Background
He has owned Salukis since 1972 and lives at Lidingö. Lure coursing, in his own words, lies closest to his heart; in retirement much of his dog life is walking, with a dog for company.
Related People
Karin Juto Hedberg, a Group 10 group judge who has bred Salukis at Kashmani in Lidingö since 1977, shares his surname, his town and his breed. The two are almost certainly family, but none of the sources we have read states the relationship, so it is recorded here as an association rather than as a fact.
