About the Kennel

Background and breeding focus

The kennel

Taumac is the Golden Retriever prefix of Roger Bridgford, who bought his first Golden Retriever in 1957 and still exhibits under it. He had come to pure bred dogs earlier still, as a five-year-old given a Pembroke Welsh Corgi in 1943, but the Golden Retriever has been his breed ever since. Alongside the kennel he was president of the Golden Retriever Club of Victoria, which now names him its patron; he sat on the management committee of the Victorian Canine Association, trading as Dogs Victoria, for twenty-five years from 1974 and was its vice president from 1990 until 1998; and in 1992 he co-founded the Canine Research Foundation.
